The festive film releases scheduled for Diwali has arrived. The calendar for October is jam-packed with upcoming films hitting theatres and online platforms. Now that theatres are open and OTT platforms have begun to release movies like never before, the audience has a whole new world of movies to explore – both from inside their homes and outside.

DOCTOR G
Ayushmann Khuranna is known to pick movies that are not just social comedies but also have a meaningful message in the end. In Doctor G, the actor plays Uday Gupta, an aspiring Orthopaedic who is assigned to the Gynaecology department at his university where he's the only male student. To fit in, he's asked to "lose the male touch". The film follows the chaos that ensues as he hesitantly navigates his unlikely career. The film also features Shefali Shah as a surgeon and Rakul Preet Singh opposite Khurrana. It also marks the feature directorial debut of Anubhuti Kashyap. Film is set to release on October 14.

CODE NAME : TIRANGA
The upcoming spy thriller Code Name: Tiranga starring Parineeti Chopra is jam-packed with action. Parineeti plays Kismat in the movie, which also stars Harrdy Sandhu. Kismat is a highly trained RAW agent and is determined and focused on completing her mission, but when she meets Dr. Mirza Ali, played by Harrdy Sandhu, her priorities change. He proposes to her, and eventually her mission puts his safety in danger. According to what the teaser shows, the movie will have a strong female protagonist and a traditional "love vs. devotion to the nation" storyline. The movie will release on October 14.

 

KANTARA
Good content transcends language barriers and reaches a wide audience. The most recent Kannada film Kantara is a prime example of this. The Hindi version of Rishab Shetty's film, which debuted in theatres in Kannada on September 30, will follow on October 14. Kantara is a story that takes place in a fictional forest named Kantara where certain traditions lead to a battle between man and nature. It also has Kishore, Sapthami Gowda, and Achyuth Kumar in significant parts. In addition to directing the movie, Rishab Shetty also had two roles.

BIJOYA DASHMI
Bijoya Dashami is a 2022 Indian movie directed by Souvik Dey starring Rajatava Dutta, Aryann Bhowmik and Anindya Banerjee. The story revolves around a 45-year-old woman who goes missing while visiting her native place. Her only son then lodges an F.I.R. The investigation leads the police dept. to some shocking and heart-wrenching hidden truths. Film is scheduled to release on October 14 2022.

 

HALLOWEEN ENDS
Universal Pictures’ upcoming movie Halloween Ends will be released in Indian theatres on October 14 2022. Led by Hollywood star Jamie Lee Curtis, the film will be distributed in the country by Warner Bros Discovery. Directed by David Gordon Green, Halloween Ends is the 13th instalment of the Halloween franchise and serves as a direct sequel to 2021’s Halloween Kills.

AYE ZINDAGI
Debutante director Anirban’s Aye Zindagi sheds light on the subject of organ donation. Based on a true story, the film walks a delicate line between mostly facts and very little fiction. The film revolves around Vinay Chawla (Satyajeet Dubey), a software engineer who is suffering from liver cirrhosis. He has six months to live unless he undergoes a liver transplant. As he tides over various challenges, he bonds with the hospital’s grief counsellor, Revathy Rajan (Revathy), as they wait for a liver donation for his surgery. A huge incident drives them apart, will they reconcile? Film is set to release on October 14.
