The trailer of Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway was released last week and has got unanimous praise. Starring Rani Mukerji in the lead, it’s a rare film in recent times whose trailer was shared by several Bollywood actors. Apart from Rani's powerful performance, the fact that it's based on a shocking true story has also caught people's eye. Bollywood Hungama has learnt about some interesting trivia about this film. A source told us, "Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway also features Neena Gupta, as seen in the trailer. She plays a character inspired by the late minister, Sushma Swaraj." Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway is based on the life of Sagarika Chakraborty, who fought a tough battle against the government of Norway after the authorities of the European country snatched away her children, citing that she and her husband are not raising them well. The source continued, "The character is not named Sushma Swaraj but is based on her. In real life, Sushma ji had played an instrumental role in Sagarika Chakraborty's fight. The film throws light on this aspect." The source added, "The makers wanted a talented and power-packed actor and hence, decided to go with Neena Gupta. She has done full justice to the role and will be loved by viewers." Besides Rani Mukerji and Neena Gupta, Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway also stars Anirban Bhattacharya and Jim Sarbh. Directed by Ashima Chibber, it releases in cinemas on March 17, 2023. Sushma Swaraj belonged to the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP). While she has handled several roles in the various BJP governments, her stint as the Minister of External Affairs got maximum praise. Her style of helping stranded Indians in foreign countries by responding to their tweets expanded her fan base. Sushma Swaraj died on August 6, 2019, at the age of 67 due to a heart attack.
